很多人认为‘英语环境’是外在的，要重金去找，实际上‘英语环境’首先是内在的，要亲自来造，其次才是外在的；所谓内在的就是自己，自己才是自己的‘英语环境’，不是别人，除非你想让你周围的人都同你讲英语。在中国一则可能性很小，就目前而论(2009年)，周围的人不叫你全疯起码也叫你半疯，背后叫你‘假洋鬼子’，你不顾面子别人还顾。在外国要是自己把自己当‘外人’，可能性也不大，顾起面子可能性就更不大。再则多年养成的被‘名师兼教授’们教成的甚至是骗成的习惯是‘听见英语想汉语’及‘读到英文想中文’。这种方法顶多修练成‘原装英翻译成蹩脚汉’的水平。
首先要而且必须达到‘听见英语想英语’及‘读到英文想英文’并保持一贯始终，直到英语英文接近同等级别的‘英语国家一般人’的水平，即中国的高中毕业生达到英语国家G12毕业的英语水平，中国的学士达到英语国家‘光棍’的英语水平，硕士对等‘骂死托’，博士对等‘打狗脱’，嬉皮士对等嬉皮士，等等，才可以叫做在自己的‘英语环境’中学习了英语。这种心态可是任何‘别人’帮不上忙的，只有自己亲自养成。关心英语学习的人士当然会从旁提醒，也只能提醒，比如家长、教师、亲朋、好友等等一些真正希望你学好英语英文的人士。有了这种心态之后才能够，要是自己愿意努力的话，主动寻找一切外在的‘英语环境’，甚至渐渐达到‘英语国家一般人’在学习一切知识时的态度，即‘听见任何语想英语’及‘读到任何文想英文’的境界，也即不论听到什么语，读到什么文都一概想英语英文的境界。因为只有用正确的英语想才可能说出正确的英语，写出正确的英文！用汉语想，有门儿吗？
正像目前绝大多数‘汉语国家一般人’将不论什么语通通学成汉语一样，能做到将不论什么语都学成无懈可击的英语就算学在‘自创的’英语环境中了，当然既要accuracy又要fluency，而且只能慢慢来，不可操之过急的。英美人说了写了二十几年English，不过如此，也有错误，想‘疯狂两年就超过’本族语使用者，不是做梦，大概就是吃错药了！
